Cinzia Mungo, LCSW

THERAPIST

Cinzia Mungo, LCSW, joined Chances for Children as a therapist in January 2025 to support parents and children in strengthening their relationships and healing from trauma. She is from Massachusetts, and she has lived in New York City since 2007.

Cinzia believes that strengthening relationships between young children and their parents is critical to helping children develop socially and emotionally. Cinzia loves that Chances for Children works with both the parent and the child to repair and grow their relationship, to increase their connection, and to empower the parent to care for and advocate for themselves and their child.

Before joining Chances for Children, Cinzia worked as a behavioral health consultant and therapist at The Jewish Board Bronx Early Childhood Treatment Center. As a behavioral health consultant, Cinzia supported children ages two to five, their parents, and their classroom teachers. As a therapist, she worked in a clinic. It was there that Cinzia found her passion for working with pregnant women, babies, and young children.

Cinzia is trained in Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Perinatal Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Circle of Security, and Practical Resources for Effective Postpartum Parenting. She holds a master’s degree in clinical social work from Fordham University. Cinzia, in her spare time, enjoys cooking, baking, reading, kickboxing, and yoga.
