Jazmin Williams

COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR

Jazmin Williams joined Chances for Children as Community Outreach Coordinator in December 2023. Jazmin leads our efforts to develop and expand partnerships with other community-based organizations and agencies serving families with young children across the Bronx.

Originally from East Harlem, Jazmin comes to us with years of experience working within the community and creating relationships and developing partnerships with nonprofit organizations. Having been a Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) client and an advocate, when Jazmin graduated from the program she joined Friends of NYC NFP as Program Associate and was later promoted to Program Coordinator (2021-2023).  Jazmin oversaw the Hearts Desire Fund which awarded grants to 100 mothers in 2022 and 168 in 2023 - a total of $236,000 to support new mothers.  Jazmin was a grant recipient herself in 2019 and used the funds to jumpstart her catering business. She is proud to have made the same opportunity available to so many other new mothers.

Jazmin also developed programs to promote child development and encourage parent-child interaction; developed strategic plans and budgets; and implemented new policies and a code of ethics.

Jazmin believes in breaking generational curses and cycles of poverty in Black and brown communities by focusing on mental and physical health and educating oneself about nutritious foods that support longevity.

While actively working on her own life's mission, in her role at Chances for Children, Jazmin will be executing on our mission by reaching and serving more families. Through her lived experience, nurturing and charismatic personality, along with ties to the communities we serve, Jazmin hopes to make a major impact for families and the community.

Outside the office, Jazmin loves learning and growing alongside her two young children. She also runs a small catering business and is pursuing a degree in food science.
